The Making Home Affordable program was created by the Obama Administration to help homeowners refinance or modify their current loan in an effort to keep homeowners in their home.
To qualify for the Making Home Affordable Program your loan must be owned by either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. This is not the name of your lender, even if your lender is B of A, Citi Mortgage, Wells Fargo etc. your mortgage may be owned by Fannie or Freddie.
